Abstract:To compare and analyze the contents of Chinese and Western medicine guidelines on pelvic inflammatory disease(Pelvic Inflammatory Disease,PID) at home and abroad, and to provide reference for optimizing integrated Chinese and Western medicine diagnosis and treatment on PID.Methods:Domestic and foreign electronic databases and related guide websites were searched, the latest PID guidelines as of February 17,2020 were included. Then the diagnostic criteria, treatment principles, antibacterial drug regimens and drug-resistant of PID were analyzed and compared.Results:Finally,6 latest PID guidelines issued at home and abroad were included.Western medicine guidelines included China,France,American CDC,Britain BASHH,and European STI etc.,and TCM guidelines were local guidelines in our country. For the diagnostic criteria, both domestic and foreign western medicine guidelines supported keeping the threshold for diagnosing PID at a low level. The TCM guidelines determined classifications and treatment rules based on the diagnostic criteria of TCM and Western medicine(WM).For treatment, the western medicine guidelines were consistent with treatment principles of the broad-spectrum antibiotic combination, but the medication and course of treatment were not exactly the same.In addition, foreign guidelines all mentioned antimicrobial resistance and adverse reactions of quinolones and other antimicrobial drugs. The TCM guidelines regulated the practices of TCM on PID,and proposed the principle of integrated TCM and WM:based on American CDC,TCM alone/combined antibiotics. However, the practice of TCM alone still lacked sufficient high-quality evidence.Any specific prescription recommendations or guidelines for integrating TCM and WM had not been found. Conclusion:Currently,China lacks the evaluation of resistance to antimicrobial drugs for the treatment of PID.Integrating TCM and WM in the treatment of PID is an advantage of China, but more evidence-based medical evidence is needed for support. In the future,it is necessary to formulate specific therapy protocols for organically integration of TCM and western medicine, based on the evidence from China's local antibiotic program.
