Abstract:Arteriosclerosis obliterans (ASO) of the lower extremities is a common and frequently-occurring disease in surgery,and its incidence is increasing year by year.There may be no obvious symptoms in the early stage of ASO,and then intermittent claudication may gradually appear.After rest,the symptoms may be relieved.Eventually,limb ulcers and gangrene may appear.It has the characteristics of slow development,persistent lower limb pain,and high disability rate.Modern medical treatment of ASO,drug therapy has limitations,and surgical and interventional treatments have strict contraindications and adverse reactions,which cannot be cured.ASO belongs to the category of traditionaL Chinese medicine (TCM) “to get rid of gangrene”.The key to its pathogenesis is “deficiency”,which is not only an important cause of ASO,but also manifests in various stages of ASO.Therefore,this paper discusses the prevention and treatment of ASO from the perspective of “the same treatment of deficiency and blood stasis”,hoping to improve The clinical efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of ASO.
