To investigate the active components, corresponding gene targets and signaling pathways of Folium Perillae-Bulbus Lilii combination in the treatment of primary insomnia by network pharmacology, and to explore the mechanism. Methods:Main components and targets of the medicinal pair were searched from Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology Database and Analysis Platform(TCMSP),Traditional Chinese Medicine Integrated Database(TCMID) and literature, and targets related to primary insomnia from GeneCards and Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man(OMIM).The common targets of the pair and the disease were visualized by String and Cytoscape.DAVID was employed for Gene Ontology(GO) term enrichment and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG) pathway enrichment of the common targets. Results:A total of 22 major active components of the pair were screened out, with 16 from Folium Perillae and 7 from Bulbus Lilii(1 shared by the two medicinals),and 53 common targets of the pair and the disease were identified. The common targets were involved in the GO terms of 284 biological processes(BPs),35 cellular components(CCs),and 58 molecular functions(MFs),and 102 KEGG pathways. Conclusion:The combination of Folium Perillae and Bulbus Lilii exerts therapeutic effect on primary insomnia through multiple targets and multiple pathways, which lays a bioinformatic basis for further revealing its mechanism of action.
