As a special subtype of breast cancer,triple negative breast cancer(TNBC) is difficult to cure and easy to recur and metastasize.Moreover,the TNBC patients generally have poor prognosis.The treatment of TNBC with Chinese medicines has been extensively studied in recent years.A large number of animal experiments have confirmed that a variety of ingredients in Chinese herbs have inhibitory effect on TNBC cells.We review the recent research progress in the treatment of TNBC with Chinese herbs.Experimental studies have proved that the extracts of single Chinese herbs can inhibit the growth and proliferation and promote the apoptosis of TNBC cells via multiple pathways to reduce the recurrence and metastasis of TNBC.In addition,there are a few studies about the treatment of TNBC with Chinese herbal formula extracts,which need to be studied by more experiments.
