To investigate the efficacy of loratadine and Xiaofeng Zhiyang Granules on immunologic/non-immunologic contact/non-contact chronic urticaria models.Methods:The immunologic contact chronic urticaria mouse model was induced by tail vein injection of anti-dinitrophenyl(DNP)-IgE monoclonal antibody for sensitization and excitation with 2,4-dinitrofluorobenzene(DNFB) applied to both ears.The immunologic non-contact chronic urticaria rat model was induced by intraperitoneal injection of ovalbumin-aluminium hydroxide suspension for sensitization and excitation.A model of non-immunologic contact urticaria in guinea pigs was induced by application of dimethyl sulfoxide to both sides of the ears.Results:In the immunologic contact/non-contact chronic urticaria models，loratadine and Xiaofeng Zhiyang Granules reduced the number of scratching and inhibited mast cell degranulation in the abdominal cavity of mice and rats(P<0.05); loratadine alleviated the release of inflammatory mediators，while Xiaofeng Zhiyang Granules inhibited the occurrence of wheal on the back and reduced ear swelling(P<0.05).In the non-immunologic contact urticaria model，Xiaofeng Zhiyang Granules reduced ear swelling and ear thickness in guinea pigs(P<0.05) and mitigated the symptoms of allergic swelling.Conclusion:Loratadine was effective in the treatment of immunologic chronic urticaria，which inhibited the release of inflammatory mediators and relieved itching symptoms.Xiaofeng Zhiyang Granules had marked effect on contact urticaria，which relieved skin redness and swelling and suppressed wheal.
