Many studies have been conducted on the theory of phlegm and blood stasis in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).In this paper,the TCM theory of phlegm and blood stasis and the internal environment of modern medicine were combined to reconsider combined phlegm and blood stasis.Scholars hold different opinions on the clinical symptoms of phlegm and blood stasis,mainly including syndrome mass,insanity,pain,skin numbness,limb impairment,and carbuncle.Based on theoretical research,the authors found that most symptoms could be categorized into two core symptoms:pain and numbness.This paper systematically expounded the etiology and pathogenesis of phlegm and blood stasis,and discussed the significance of treating phlegm and blood stasis in specific diseases by taking coronary heart disease,depression and impotence as examples.
