To analyze the association rules of Chinese and western drugs used for the real-world treatment of malignant renal tumors based on the electronic medical data from the Hospital Information System(HIS),so as to explore the unmet clinical needs and provide optimized clinical treatment solutions. Methods:The electronic medical data of 7 095 patients with malignant renal tumors were extracted from 37 class A tertiary hospitals in China. The association rules analysis was carried out with the Apriori algorithm. Results:The combined use of immunomodulatory drugs and antibiotics had the highest frequency with the support degree of 40.9%,followed by that of electrolyte balance regulators and antibiotics with the support degree of 39.4%.Ambroxol injection and insulin were used together with the highest frequency(support degree of 12.8%).In terms of Chinese medicines, the combined use of the medicines replenishing and reinforcing healthy qi with those clearing heat and removing toxin had the highest frequency with the support degree of 11.147%.Specifically,the combination of Ganmao Qingre granules and Compound Kushen injection had the highest frequency(support degree of 1.706%).Conclusion:For the patients with malignant renal tumors, drug combination is mostly employed as symptomatic treatment of postoperative or paraneoplastic syndrome and metastasis.Targeted medications and immunotherapies for advanced-stage or metastatic renal carcinoma had low utilization rate in the first-line treatment, and only the recombinant human interleukin-2 had the frequency above 11.2% in clinical practice. The combined use of the Chinese drugs replenishing and reinforcing healthy qi with those clearing heat and removing toxin had high frequency, and the main drugs included Compound Kushen injection,Shenqi Fuzheng injection, and Zhenqi Fuzheng granules.
