Currently available methods are applied to analyze prescriptions，which is expected to find the compatibility regularity and lay a basis for clinical diagnosis and treatment，preservation of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)，and drug research and development.At the moment，the commonly used prescription analysis methods include association rules analysis，cluster analysis，factor analysis，complex network，and artificial neural network，Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance Support System，and ancient and modern medical record cloud platform.Each method has unique characteristics and has been applied in different fields of TCM.However，the methods have limitations.Thus，the application scopes，advantages，and disadvantages of different prescription analysis methods are analyzed，which is expected to serve as a reference for clinical modernization of TCM.
