To evaluate the quality of Lycii Cortex pieces by establishing HPLC fingerprint combined with chemical pattern recognition.Methods:HPLC fingerprints of 10 batches of Lycii Cortex pieces were established.Similarity evaluation was performed by using Similarity Evaluation System for Chromatographic Fingerprint of TCM(2004A) to confirm the common peaks.The quality of 45 batches of Lycii Cortex pieces from different regions was evaluated by the reference fingerprint.Principal component analysis(PCA) and hierarchical cluster analysis(HCA) were used for the comprehensive quality evaluation of Lycii Cortex pieces.Results:The HPLC fingerprints of Lycii Cortex pieces were established,and 14 common peaks were marked,with the similarity above 0.90.The similarity of 45 batches of samples was between 0.282 and 0.998,and there were some differences in overall quality.Forty-five batches of Lycii Cortex pieces were clustered into five categories.The results of PCA showed that D19,D18,and D22 got the highest comprehensive scores.Conclusion:HPLC fingerprint combined with chemical pattern recognition can realize the rapid and accurate evaluation of Lycii Cortex pieces,which provides a reference for the quality evaluation and rational usage of Lycii Cortex pieces.
