Sea buckthorn(Hippophae rhamnoides L.) is a medicinal plant with an edible value，the different parts of which have been used as folk medicines for a long time.Sea buckthorn leaves contain abundant chemical constituents，which exhibit metabolism-regulating，cardiovascular protective，and anti-cancer activities.The separation and characterization of these chemical constituents can deepen our understanding of the pharmacological effects of sea buckthorn leaves on different diseases.In addition，identifying the materials conferring the biological activities of sea buckthorn leaves can provide a new insight for the research and industrialization of this plant.
