Pancreatic cancer with a high degree of malignancy is known as the “king of cancer”，and its incidence keeps rising worldwide in recent years.The rapid progression leads to the generally short survival and pose a great challenge for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of this disease.As one of the effective means for comprehensive treatment of pancreatic cancer in the context of multidisciplinary collaboration，traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) demonstrates high flexibility and compatibility.It can act synergistically with other treatment methods in the whole progression process of pancreatic cancer and also become the main treatment method for elderly and advanced patients，being capable of improve the quality of life of patients.The ancient medical books have few records of pancreatic cancer，and the available records focus on symptoms such as jaundice，abdominal pain，abdominal mass，and accumulation，lacking a comprehensive TCM diagnosis and treatment system.Based on the summary of ancient medical books and their own clinical experience，contemporary doctors have carried out a series of basic and clinical studies，forming a variety of TCM treatment ideas for pancreatic cancer.With both common and unique points，the ideas provide references for the application of TCM in the multidisciplinary model for treating pancreatic cancer.On the basis of the research results of ancient books and pancreatic cancer experts，this article systematically summarizes the ideas for applying TCM in the clinical diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic cancer.
