Dermatosis is a pathological process characterized by a series of symptomatic and morphological changes in the skin，mucous membranes，and skin appendages，including hair and nails，under the influence of pathogenic factors.The etiological factors and pathogenesis of dermatosis are complex，diverse，and not only impair the patient's physical health but also may affect their appearance and psychological well-being.With the development of the economy and society，the prevention and treatment of dermatosis have gained increasing attention.This article summarized and analyzed the general techniques，treatment mechanisms，and clinical applications of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) moxibustion therapy for skin diseases，including cotton moxibustion，thread moxibustion by Zhuang ethnic group，thread incense moxibustion，lamp moxibustion，thin moxa stick/drug stick moxibustion，scar moxibustion，and other moxibustion methods，based on the literature reported in China and abroad in the past five years.This article is expected to expand the application of TCM external treatment methods in the field of dermatosis.
