To analyze the clinical characteristics and rules of Chinese medicine in the treatment of Hashimoto's thyroiditis using statistical methods such as cluster analysis. Methods:China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),China Biology Medicine(CBM),China Science Periodical Database(CSPD),Chinese Citation Database(CCD),and PubMed were searched. The results were imported into the NoteExpress literature management system, and relevant literature that met the criteria was screened.Chinese medicine names and formats were standardized, and a database was established for literature, prescriptions, and Chinese medicine information.Excel and SPSS 23.0 were used to analyze the collected information, including frequency statistics and cluster analysis. Results:A total of 129 eligible research articles were selected, involving 123 prescriptions and 144 drugs, with a cumulative frequency of 1 395 applications. In the analysis of single drugs, the most frequently used drugs were deficiency-tonifying ones, especially qi-tonifying drugs.Prunellae Spica,Astragali Radix,Fritillariae Thunbergii Bulbus, and Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma were the most frequently used single drugs. They were mainly warm in nature, bitter, sweet, and pungent in flavor, and acted on the liver, spleen, and kidney meridians.Through cluster analysis of the 38 most frequently used drugs,8 common herbal pairs and 4 herbal clusters were obtained, and the overall treatment principles were summarized as soothing the liver, regulating qi,resolving phlegm, dissipating masses, and tonifying the spleen and kidney. Conclusion:Chinese medicine treatment for Hashimoto's thyroiditis is often based on syndrome differentiation according to different stages of the disease. The main focus is on soothing the liver and resolving depression, and treatment is further tailored based on disease progression and specific syndromes, including regulating qi,resolving phlegm, activating blood, resolving stasis, warming yang, promoting diuresis, and tonifying the spleen and kidney.
