To explore the medication rules of Professor Wang Xiaomin for treating non-small lung cancer based on the data mining method.Methods:We collected the records of Professor Wang Xiaomin in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer and established a database.We then used Excel,SPSS Statistics 25.0,and SPSS Modeler 18.0 to analyze the herb use frequency and perform cluster analysis and association rules analysis.Results:A total of 168 patients were enrolled in this study,including 82 males and 86 females,with the age ranged from 33 to 83 years old.The patients mainly presented the symptoms of cough,expectoration,and poor sleep and the common syndromes of stasis,toxin,ministerial fire,and spleen deficiency.A total of 424 prescriptions were included,involving 181 herbs(including 29 with high frequency).The herbs mainly had tropism to the lung,liver,and spleen meridians,cold,mild cold,or warm nature,and sweet,bitter,or pungent taste.The cluster analysis yielded 5 herb combinations,and the association rules analysis yielded 28 association rules.Herba Hedyoti Diffusae-Herba Solani Nigri-Solanum Lyratum-Sculellaria Barbata-Plantain seed, Bupleuri Radix-Pinellinae Rhizomae Praeparatum-Root of Herbaceous Peony, Raw Milkvetch Root Saposhnikoviae Radix-fried Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma were commonly association rules.According to the analysis of the associations between syndromes,symptoms,and herbs,the syndrome of stasis and toxin was common among the non-small cell lung cancer patients,and the commonly used herbs were Scutellariae Barbatae Herba,Herba Hedyoti Diffusae,Herba Solani Lyrati,Herba Solani Nigri,and Plantaginis Semen.Conclusion:Professor Wang focuses on the lung,liver,and spleen in the clinical treatment of non-small lung cancer following the principle of clearing heat and removing toxin,activating blood and eliminating stagnation,and soothing the liver and invigorating the spleen.He uses different herbs in different disease stages according to syndrome differentiation.
