To explore the efficacy of modified Tongqi Sanjian Decoction in improving qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome after thyroid cancer(TC) surgery. Methods:A total of 108 patients with qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome after TC surgery in Affiliated Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Xinjiang Medical University from April 2021 to July 2022 were selected and divided into control group and observatioin group according to the simple randomization method, with 54 cases in each group. The control group was given thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH) suppressive therapy while the observation group was treated with Tongqi Sanjian Decoction on the basis of the control group. The traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) syndrome scores, endocrine indexes [serum free triiodothyronine(FT3),free thyroxine(FT4),TSH],bone metabolism indexes [calcium, phosphorus, alkaline phosphatase(ALP)],bone mineral density, immune function, adverse reactions and prognosis were compared between the two groups. Results:After 3 months of treatment, the TCM syndrome scores of the two groups were decreased(P<0.05),and serum FT3,FT4,CD3+,CD4+ and CD4+/CD8+ were enhanced(P<0.05) while TSH and CD8+ were reduced(P<0.05).The differences between the two groups after treatment were significant(P<0.05).The bone mineral densities of Ward's triangle and greater trochanter in observation group were higher than those in control group(P<0.05).After 6 months of surgery, the Karnofsky Performance Status Scale(KPS) score in observation group at 6 months after surgery was higher than that in control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Modified Tongqi Sanjian Decoction combined with TSH suppressive therapy presents a prominent efficacy in the treatment of thyroid cancer of qi stagnation and blood stasis type, which is worthy of promotion.
