Abstract:To analyze and discuss the medication rules of ancient traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) prescriptions for stroke.Methods:A total of 422 prescriptions for stroke in ancient TCM books were collected,and a database was established by Epidata.Then the frequency,category,and proportion of the prescriptions were statistically analyzed.Finally,association rules and complex network were employed for exploring the medication rules.Results:In the prescriptions collected,there involved 221 herbal medicines in 18 categories,with the total frequency of usage of 4 058.The top 5 categories were exterior-relieving medicine,tonifying and reinforcing medicine,wind-dampness-dispelling medicine,heat-clearing medicine,and blood-activating medicine.The top 5 herbal medicines in the frequency of usage included Radix Saposhnikovia,Rhizoma Chuanxiong,Radix Angelicae Sinensis,Radix et Rhizoma Ginseng,and Radix Paeoniae Alba.The herbal medicines were mainly warm,moderate,mild warm,mild cold,and cold,with pungent,sweet,and bitter flavors.They largely acted on spleen,liver,lung,and heart.According to Apriori algorithm,496 rules were generated,and core medicine nodes were found according to complex network,which were Radix Saposhnikovia,Radix Et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae,Radix Angelicae Sinensis,Rhizoma Chuanxiong,Radix et Rhizoma Ginseng,and Rhizomaet Radix Notopterygii.Conclusion:The treatment of stroke in ancient TCM focuses on dispelling wind,dredging collaterals,tonifying qi,and nourishing blood.
