To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of Shufeng Jiedu capsules combined with Western medicine in the treatment of acute upper respiratory infection(AURI) in children.Methods:The randomized controlled trials(RCTs) of Shufeng Jiedu capsules combined with Western medicine in the treatment of acute upper respiratory infection in children were retrieved from the China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI)，China Science Periodical Database(CSCD)，Chinese Citation Database(CCD)，SinoMed，PubMed，and Cochrane Library with the time limit to March 2023.Two researchers screened the retrieved articles and extracted the data.Meta-analysis was performed in Stata16.Results:A total of 86 articles were retrieved，in which 16 articles were selected for analysis，involving 1 754 patients.The overall quality of the included articles was high.The results of the meta-analysis showed that Shufeng Jiedu capsules combined with Western medicine had higher total response rate，lower recurrence，lower incidence of adverse reactions，and shorter time to relief of symptoms(except fever) than Western medicine(all P<0.05).Conclusion:Shufeng Jiedu capsules combined with Western medicine has good efficacy and safety.Due to the limitations of the quality of the included articles and publication bias，the results of this study need to be verified by more high-quality clinical trials.
