Ischemic stroke(IS) is a common type of cerebrovascular diseases that mainly occurred in the middle-aged and elderly.It has become a major challenge that endangers human life，causing a heavy socio-economic burden.Based on the multi-target mode，the active ingredients of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) and TCM compound with neuroprotective activity exert beneficial effects，including protection of blood-brain barrier，inhibition of neuroinflammation and anti-oxidative stress.Therefore，they have a great therapeutic potential and application prospect for IS.
