Abstract:The theory of meridian acupoint specificity is a traditional classical theory in acupuncture and moxibustion. It is not only an entry point for the study of meridian theory, but also a crucial guide for the rational selection of acupuncture points to improve the curative effect in in clinical practice.Acupoints are specific points on the meridians, representing unique locations where the qi and blood of the Zang-fu organs and meridians are particularly active. The effects of acupoints differ from those of non-acupoints,and the therapeutic outcomes of individual acupoints vary significantly from one another.Specific points within the same meridian exhibit distinct effects compared to non-specific points. The enhanced research on the specificity of the acupoint effects holds significant scientific importance in advancing the modernization and internationalization of acupuncture.
