In recent years，the construction of animal model of spleen deficiency and dampness excess syndrome has become a research hotspot in the field of TCM syndromes.Spleen deficiency and dampness excess syndrome is located in the spleen，with the nature of deficiency and dampness.Therefore，the construction of the model is complex，and there has been no recognized animal model.This paper analyzed and summarized the current research from two dimensions:the thought and method of constructing the model of spleen deficiency and dampness excess syndrome and the evaluation indexes of the model.It was found that the animal model of spleen deficiency and dampness excess syndrome is usually constructed from the point of view of etiology，such as improper diet，long-term wetland living and overstrain，and the modeling method involves single factor，two factors and mixed factors.The model of spleen deficiency and dampness excess syndrome is usually macroscopically evaluated by symptoms and exterior syndromes and objectively evaluated by fatigue index，gastrointestinal function index and water metabolism index.Additionally，the problems existing in the current model construction were analyzed from the syndrome nomenclature，syndrome evaluation criteria and model construction methods of spleen deficiency and dampness excess syndrome，to discuss and analyze the future development direction of the animal model of spleen deficiency and dampness excess syndrome.This paper provided reference for the study of the animal model of spleen deficiency.
