To explore the effect of Cuyu Xiaozhong Decoction(CYXZ) on the levels of serum fibroblast growth factor 2(FGF-2),bone morphogenetic protein 7(BMP-7),and bone healing status in patients with exercise-induced distal humeral fractures after surgery.Methods:Eighty-six patients with exercise-induced distal humeral fractures treated at Henan Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from March 2021 to September 2022 were enrolled and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group,with 43 cases in each group.The control group received routine rehabilitation treatment after surgery,while the observation group received CYXZ in addition to routine treatment.The clinical efficacy and postoperative recovery of the two groups were compared.Differences in elbow joint function,joint mobility,serum FGF-2,and BMP-7 levels between the two groups at 1 day and 7 days postoperatively were also compared.Results:The clinical efficacy in the observation group was 93.02%,significantly higher than 76.74% in the control group(P<0.05).The observation group showed significantly shorter times for pain relief,swelling reduction,and fracture healing than the control group(all P<0.05).At 7 days postoperatively,the Mayo Elbow Performance Score,range of motion(ROM),serum FGF-2,and BMP-7 levels in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group(all P<0.05).The Visual Analog Scale(VAS) score in the observation group at 7 days postoperatively was significantly lower than that at 1 day postoperatively and lower than that in the control group(all P<0.05).Conclusion:Postoperative administration of CYXZ in patients with exercise-induced distal humeral fractures effectively promotes the upregulation of serum FGF-2 and BMP-7 levels,improves elbow joint function,alleviates postoperative pain,and accelerates fracture healing.
