As one of the main chronic complications of diabetes mellitus(DM),diabetes osteoporosis(DOP) has a hidden onset and a complex pathogenesis. It is related to the comprehensive effect of multiple factors such as hyperglycemia, oxidative stress, related cytokines, hormone level changes, and the use of hypoglycemic drugs. The disease is lingering and difficult to heal, which seriously affects the quality of life of patients.Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) believes that DOP is located in the bone and is closely related to dysfunction of the kidneys, spleen, liver, and organs, leading to Qi deficiency and blood stasis.Treatment often focuses on regulating and tonifying the organs, promoting Qi and resolving blood stasis, and enabling the bone to nourish and improve symptoms.Based on the theory of collateral diseases, this paper studied the main pathogenesis of DOP,which was the deficiency of bone collaterals and organs,as well as the obstruction of evil blood stasis and discussed the application of the method of supplementing deficiency and dredging collaterals in the prevention and treatment of DOP,so as to provide more ideas and theoretical references for clinical prevention and treatment of DOP.
