To study the antioxidative and whitening ability of Ganoderma lucidum extract(GLE) and its effects on cell proliferation. Methods:The content of carbohydrate in GLE was measured and GLE's ability to scavenge in vitro DPPH and ABTS free radicals, inhibit the activity of mushroom tyrosinase, and inhibit melanin synthesis and tyrosinase activity in B16F10 cells, crystal test, and scratch test were set as evaluation indexes to study the antioxidative and whitening ability of GLE and its effects on the proliferation of L929 fibroblasts. Results:GLE was rich in total sugars and polysaccharides.Compared with β-arbutin,GLE showed a weaker scavenging effect on DPPH free radicals and ABTS free radicals, with IC50 of the free radical scavenging rate being 1.6 mg/mL and 1.2 mg/mL,respectively.It showed a strong inhibitory effect on the activity of mushroom tyrosinase. The results of the phenotype modeling experiment based on α-MSH cells showed that 0.4 mg/mL and 0.8 mg/mL GLE significantly inhibited the activity of tyrosinase and the production of melanin in B16F10 cells.GLE could promote the proliferation of L929 fibroblasts. Conclusion:GLE has great potential for the development and utilization of whitening and functional food.
