Abstract:
To investigate the clinical application characteristics of pricking and cupping therapy in relevant literature, and to provides a certain reference for the clinical use of pricking and cupping therapy to treat diseases. Methods:Using computer and data mining technology, the “database of clinical application characteristics of pricking and cupping therapy” was established, and the relevant literature was collected, screened, reviewed, sorted, extracted and entered by data mining technology, and then statistically analyzed. Results:Pricking and cupping therapy is the most commonly used in dermatology, followed by surgery, internal medicine, and gynecology, with less application in ENT and pediatrics. It is primarily used to treat herpes zoster. The most commonly used acupoints include Ashi acupoint,Governor Vessel and points along the Bladder Meridian of Foot-Taiyang.Triangular needles and glass cups are the tools most often selected. The acupuncture depth is generally 0.1 to 0.5 cm,with bloodletting volume of 1 to 5 mL,and the cups are left in place for 10 minutes before removal.Pricking and cupping often yield better results when used in conjunction with filiform needle acupuncture. The frequency of treatment is generally once every 2 to 3 days, with most diseases showing over 90% efficacy after 6 to 10 treatments within a month. Conclusion:This study found that herpes zoster is particularly amenable to treatment with pricking and cupping therapy, which also has certain operational characteristics in clinical practice.
