To investigate the effects of Renshen Zhijuzi Oral Liquid(RZOL) on alcohol detoxification and liver protection. Methods:Fifty mice were randomly divided into a blank group,a model group,a high-dose RZOL group,a low-dose RZOL group, and a positive control group(bifendate),with 10 mice in each group. After 4 weeks of oral gavage,an acute alcohol intoxication model was induced using a single dose of 50% ethanol. The effects of RZOL on basic physiological activities and serum and liver tissue indicators were investigated, and pathological sections of liver tissue were observed. The anti-inebriation and hepatoprotective effects of RZOL were assessed.Additionally,an AML12 liver cell injury model was established with ethanol, and the impact of RZOL on ethanol-stimulated AML12 cell supernatants was measured by examining glutamic-pyruvic transaminase(GPT),glutamic oxalacetic transaminase(GOT),and reactive oxygen species(ROS) levels. Results:Mice treated with RZOL had significantly extended intoxication times, shortened sleep time and time to wake-up,significantly reduced serum ethanol concentration,GPT,and GOT levels, improved liver cell damage, increased superoxide dismutase(SOD) activity and glutathione peroxidase(GSH) levels in liver tissue, and reduced malondialdehyde(MDA) content. In AML12 liver cells cultured in vitro,RZOL reversed ethanol-induced increases in ALT and AST activities and excessive ROS production. Conclusion:RZOL demonstrates effective anti-inebriation,detoxification,and liver protection properties. Its mechanism likely involves enhancing ethanol metabolism and boosting endogenous antioxidant enzyme activity.
