Myasthenia gravis(MG) is a challenging autoimmune nervous system disease.Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) compounds potent in tonifying the spleen and benefiting kidneys can exert significant effects through immune modulation. This study summarized TCM compounds for tonifying the spleen and benefiting kidneys used in MG treatment, and outlined research strategies from both clinical and basic experimental perspectives to analyze the immunomodulatory mechanisms of these TCM compounds in treating MG,including the reduction of acetylcholine receptor antibodies and immunoglobulin G concentrations(humoral immunity mechanisms),and the maintenance of Th1/Th2 and Th17/Treg balance(cellular immunity mechanisms). This study is expected to provide a reference for the application and immune mechanism research on spleen-tonifying and kidneys-benefiting TCM compounds in the treatment of MG.
