Pathogenesis and Treatment of Idiopathic Membranous Nephropathy in Traditional Chinese Medicine Based on Healthy Qi-reinforcing and Wind-dispelling Therapies
Idiopathic membranous nephropathy(IMN) often presents as nephrotic syndrome, with sudden onset and recurrent,difficult-to-treat conditions.Professor WANG Baokui believes that spleen and kidney deficiency, along with wind invasion into the kidneys, are the main pathogenic mechanisms of IMN,emphasizing the importance of wind in this disease. From the perspective of the relationship between the lungs and kidneys,he combines micro-syndrome differentiation with the traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) theory of organ manifestation to explain the disease's onset, pathogenesis, and clinical features. His treatment principle focuses on reinforcing healthy qi and dispelling wind, with simultaneous treatment of the lungs, spleen, and kidneys, addressing both the root and the manifestation. This approach has shown good clinical efficacy. The study mainly explores Professor Wang's academic viewpoints and clinical experiences in treating IMN,focusing on the disease's etiology, pathogenesis, treatment principles, formula composition for reinforcing healthy qi and dispelling wind, and clinical applications.
