Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) has demonstrated clinical efficacy in treating allergic rhinitis(AR),but the specific mechanisms of action remain unclear.Metabolomics,which views the organism as a whole,has significant advantages in comprehensively and precisely elucidating the mechanisms,types,and functions of small-molecule metabolic products in diseases.Metabolomics has been widely applied in the study of the pathogenesis of AR in TCM prevention and treatment,yet it has not been fully analyzed or summarized.This review focuses on the metabolomics research of TCM in the prevention and treatment of AR,covering AR disease models,TCM interventions,metabolomics techniques,and experimental design ideas for metabolomics in TCM interventions for AR.This study is expected to provide theoretical references and insights for using metabolomics to further investigate the mechanisms of TCM in the prevention and treatment of AR.
