The prevalence of gout has been rising year by year,but its pathogenesis is complex,and there is a lack of effective therapeutic drugs in clinical practice.Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) has been proven to be effective in treating gout,with its pathogenesis categorized under the “dampness-heat-cold-stasis-deficiency” network.This article elaborates on the connotation of the complex pathogenesis network of “dampness-heat-cold-stasis-deficiency” from the perspective of TCM,and combines the biological basis of modern medicine,including intestinal flora imbalance,inflammatory response,oxidative stress,microcirculation disorders,and immune dysfunction,to provide a reference for TCM syndrome differentiation,treatment,and prevention of gout.This also contributes to the development of TCM and the refinement of its modern connotations.
