Astragali Radix is known for its ability to tonify qi and raise yang, making it an important medicine in the non-surgical treatment of lumbar disc herniation by promoting intervertebral disc resorption.By integrating traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) theories such as “yang transforming qi while yin constituting form”,the “lung-spleen-kidney” axis, and the “nutritive and defensive qi” concept,a preliminary “yng transforming qi-lung-spleen-kidney” immune regulation system is constructed. This system encompasses the targeting effect of Astragali Radix on the lung, spleen, and kidney meridians,as well as its influence on the transformation of nutritive and defensive substances and the immune system.Based on this framework, the mechanism by which Astragali Radix promotes intervertebral disc resorption is further elaborated, enriching the TCM theoretical foundation for its clinical application.
