In recent years，significant progress has been made in the understanding of pulmonary nodules by traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) scholars.This article summarizes the evolution of the etiology and pathogenesis of pulmonary nodules and outlines the six common syndrome types and treatment principles.For the syndrome of deficiency in both the lung and spleen，the main treatment principle is to bank up earth to generate metal，with Sijunzi Decoction as the base formula.For liver qi stagnation and spleen deficiency，the main treatment principle is to soothe the liver and strengthen the spleen，with Xiaoyao Powder or Chaihu Shugan Powder as the base formulas.For phlegm-dampness obstructing the lung，the main treatment principle is to ventilate the lung and resolve phlegm，with Erchen Decoction as the base formula.For phlegm-heat obstructing the lung，the main treatment principle is to clear heat，resolve phlegm，and ventilate the lung.For phlegm stagnation and blood stasis，the main treatment principle is to resolve phlegm and blood stasis，with Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction as the base formula.For both qi and yin deficiency，the main treatment principle is to tonify qi and nourish yin，with Shashen Maidong Decoction as the base formula.The aim is to provide new insights for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary nodules.
