As a unique thinking system of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)，“Pattern differentiation and treatment” serves as a fundamental principle guiding both theoretical learning and clinical practice，as well as an important method for TCM principle exploration.For TCM knowledge，renowned senior TCM practitioners' experience is a vital component and a key vehicle for TCM inheritance.With machine learning methods，this paper reviewed and summarized the current research status of TCM syndrome and the inheritance of renowned senior TCM practitioners' experience in recent years.Based on extensive and objectively recorded clinical cases，this article analyzed the relationships between “disease，symptom，syndrome，therapeutic method，formula，and medication”，thus objectively restoring the thinking system of syndrome differentiation and treatment by renowned senior TCM practitioners.Then，combining human-machine integrated methods such as learning inherited methods，inductive summarization inherited methods，and interviews，the academic thoughts and clinical experience of these practitioners can be inherited in a more objective，comprehensive，and systematic manner.
