In this paper，after sorting out the relevant literature on nephrotic syndrome animal models，those of minimal change nephrotic syndrome(MCNS) were taken as examples.The literature was reviewed for classification analysis and comprehensive evaluation of modeling methods，animals，and characteristics combined with the pathogenesis of traditional Chinese and Western medicine，clinical diagnostic criteria，as well as syndrome differentiation and treatment.Taking the MCNS animal model as an example，adriamycin tail vein injection is the most common modeling method，a simple method with a high success rate.However，this modeling method is mostly based on Western medicine characteristics.The factors involved in the model are limited，lacking traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) modeling methods based on TCM theories.There is a certain deviation in the pathogenesis characteristics of the same disease.Therefore，the future preparation of nephrotic syndrome animal models needs to be closer to clinical practice.In addition to Western medicine characteristics，TCM elements should also be introduced.Such animal models can provide a more reliable theoretical basis for clinical diagnosis，and treatment，as well as the development of traditional Chinese and Western medicine.
