to investigate the clinical therapeutic effect of Healthy qi-Reinforcing Anti-Aids Granule for aids of type of qi deficiency and stagnating toxin at symptomless and onset periods.Methods:30 HIV/AIDS patients were examined before and after a treatment course of 5 months. Detected were such parameters as virus load,immunological function，symptoms and physical signs points，chemotatic factors and theirs receptors.Results:there were significant differences before and after treatment in scores of total symptoms (primary and secondary symptoms), scores of general physical signs (primary and secondary symptoms and main signs), and Karnofsky performance scores（P<0.05 or P<0.01）. Symptoms as fatigue, anorexia, hair loss, abdominal distension, muscle pain in particular were dramatically improved (P<0.05). The medication maintained CD4 level and virus load under a stable condition. Expressions of CCR5、CXCR4 and RANTES、SDF-1 were dramatically declined after treatment (P<0.05 or P<0.01) with a moderate increase in MIP-1α and a slight decline in MIP-1β(P>0.05); No notable adverse effects were shown in the patients.Conclusion:Healthy qi-Reinforcing Anti-Aids Granule can significantly alleviate clinical syndromes of patients with HIV/AIDS, improve immunological functions and maintain virus load, thus have good effect on aids of type of qi deficiency and stagnating toxin.
