to explore patterns and treatment of Chinese medicine for cardiopaths following extracorporeal circulation operation (EC).Methods:participants with coronary and valvular heart disease, was grouped to a control group (42 cases) and a treatment group (38 cases), on whom the pattern differentiation was performed and treated accordingly within 10d after the operation. Time needed for improvement of clinical symptoms, tongue manifestation and pulse plus hemorheological changes were compared between the two groups.Results:the treatment group presented a total effective rate of 92.11% with quicker alleviation (improvement) of clinical symptoms, tongue manifestation and pulse than the control group did (P<0.01); there were no significant differences of hemorheological changes.Conclusion:relieving symptoms of alimentary canals, the treatment according to syndrome differentiation of Chinese medicine can facilitate cardiopath’s convalescence after extracorporeal circulation operation so as to improve quality of life for patients.
