The prestigious TCM doctors are a group with academic attainments of Chinese Medicine, and high level clinical skills. The study and inheritance of their academic thoughts and clinical experience can promote development of Chinese medicine itself, of talent education and clinical service. According to this study, the inheritance should be done from medical skills, medical thought medical knowledge, with the arrangement of three models: apprentice system, school education and scientific research, and research methods including literature, clinical application and theory innovation. Enhancing research model and method for the academic thoughts of prestigious doctors will play an important role in the inheritance and innovation of Chinese Medicine.
