To explore efficacy of modified Huatan Tongluo Decoction on cerebral infarction of wind-phlegm obstruction. Methods:102 patient with cerebral infarction of wind-phlegm obstruction were randomized to treatment group (n=51) and control group (n=51). Both groups were treated by the standard treatment regimen, on top of that, the treatment group received modified Huatan Tongluo Decoction, 200mL per time, twice a day, 2 courses, 14 days each. After treatment, neurologic impairment score, clinical symptoms were assessed. Results:After treatment both groups improved significantly in neurologic impairment score (P<0.05). The effective rate of treatment group was 94.1%, compared with 88.2% of the control group (P<0.01). Conclusion: Modified Huatan Tongluo Decoction can effectively relieve neurologic impairment and clinical symptoms in patients with cerebral infarction of wind-phlegm obstruction.
