Abstract:To discuss anti-hypertension effect of Zexie Decoction and its mechanism . Methods:Zexie Decoction (high, medium, and low dose) was given to rats on hyper-salt diet and with hypertension, there were also normal blank group, Model blank group, and Diovan control group. urine volume and blood pressure were measured; 28 days later plasma AngⅡ, sera EO, ALD content and red blood cell membrane Na+, K+ATPase activity were measured using radioimmuno-assay enzyme linked immunosorbent assay, automatism biochemical methods. Results:After drug delivery 1, 4, 7 day, each drug delivery group had urine volume increased than model blank group ( diovan group > Zexie high doses group > Zexie medium group > Zexie low dose group) ( P<0.01 or P<0.05); each Zexie group reached highest urine volume at day 4, and decreased from day7; after 1 week, each Zexie group had more urine volume than model blank group ( P> 0.05); each model group had decreased blood pressure ( diovan group > Zexie high doses group > Zexie medium dose group > Zexie low dose group > model blank control group) .All Zexie groups had significantly different blood pressure than that of the diovan group and model blank control group ( P<0.05 or P<0.01); the anti hypertension effect is consistent with urination promoting effect ( diovan group > high doses group > medium dose group > low dose low dose group); after 1 week, Zexie didn’t increase urine volume, but still with anti-hypertension effect .Each drug delivery group presented decreased plasma Ang Ⅱ, sera EO, ALD content, and increased Na+, K+- ATPase activity. Conclusion:Zexie Decoction has dose-dependant anti-hypertension effect. The initial effect is obvious and related to urine promotion, long-term effect is achieved via diuresis, blood activation, and phlegm resolving. This is achieved through inhibition of Ang Ⅱ, ALD, EO and increase of Na+,K+-ATPase activity of cell membrane.
