Anaphylactoid purpura is a type of skin or mucosa damage resulting from blood and plasma extravasation to subcutaneous, mucosa and serosa caused by allergic capillaries and small vessels vasculitis. Normally occur in lower limbs, it is characterized by red petechia on the skin or mucous membranes, joint pain, abdominal symptoms and renal damage. It’s named “grape disease” in Chinese medicine, can be caused by rheumatic fever attaching the exterior, improper diet, liver and kidney yin deficiency and qi’s failure to control blood. In view of its pathogenesis and the clinical symptoms, it has the following sub-patterns: wind-heat invading collateral, bleeding due to blood-heat, dampness heat obstruction, liver and kidney yin deficiency, qi’s failure to control blood. In addition to treatments according to above patterns, acupuncture and external treatment are also used. |
