Abstract:In this paper, a new pathogenesis theory of chronic ulcer in lower limbs is proposed as “deficiency, pathogen, stasis, injury, and putridity”, and a comprehensive therapeutic protocol with the integrated TCM internal and external therapy is established. The idea of supporting the healthy energy and dissipating stasis is constantly kept during the internal therapy, emphasizing benefiting qi and fortifying spleen, tonifying kidney and boosting essence, as well as regulating vessels and generating new energy. The external therapy is focused on dissipating putridity and stasis, activating blood, expelling pus and generating muscles. Chinese medicine theories on wound repair are therefore largely enriched with significant theoretical and applicable value.
