To analyze the compatibility regularity of Banxiaxiexin decoction， summarize the clinical efficacy and drug safety through the treatment of chronic gastritis with clinically modified Banxiaxiexin decoction. Methods: All together 70 cases of chronic gastritis patients were randomly divided into control group and observation group. The control group used conventional internal medical treatment (antacid， protection of gastric mucosa， etc.)， while the observation group added the Banxiaxiexin decoction on the basis of the control group. The total clinical effective rates of the two groups were compared after 30 days of treatment. Results: After the treatment， the patients were followed-up for one year. Gastroscope reviewed at end of the follow-up that the total effective rate of the control group was 77.14%， the observation group 91.44%. Comparisons of two groups showed statistical difference (P<0.05)， with the result of the observation group better than that of the control group. Conclusion: The treatment of Zhang Zhongjing′s Banxiaxiexin decoction on chronic gastritis demonstrates satisfactory curative effect. It is suggested to develop its use in clinical practice.
