Professor Fu Baotian thinks in spite of various causes， tinnitus has but only 2 types：Surplus and Deficiency.Surplus syndrome is due to the up-flaming fire of heart and liver， stagnation of phlegm fire， Qi and blood stagnation.Treatment should aim to clear the heart and liver fire， resolve phlegm， and promote blood circulation; Deficiency is due to deficiency of liver， spleen and kidney， lack of qi and blood.Treatment should aim to strengthen the function of spleen， liver， kidney， replenish qi and blood， etc.
