Abstract:To find the relevance between the quantity of trace elements and the effects of traditional Chinese Medicines treating hypertension. Methods:The trace elements in 12 species of traditional Chinese Medicines treating hypertension were selected and information analysis was carried out by correspondence analysis and cluster analysis of chemometrics method. Results:The calculated results such as R type, Q type factor loading matrix were gained and a clustering plane figure of correspondence analysis factors was made according to the content of trace element. The results indicated that 12 species of traditional Chinese Medicines could be classified into three classes and the elements which closely related to each class of traditional Chinese Medicine were determined. The class of clearing heat and detoxication has relation with Fe and Mg.The classification results of cluster analysis were in agreement with those of correspondence analysis and the similarities and differences among the twelve kinds of Chinese medicine were revealed. Conclusion:Through chemometrics method, it is revealed that there is a correlation between the trace element contents and effect of Chinese medicine. The result shows that the chemometrics method has the great advantage for the efficacy analysis of Chinese Medicines.
