Central retinal vein occlusion easily leads to multiple complications, and macular edema is the most common one, which frequently results in serious vision loss. Due to the serious damage of vision and the severe influence of patient's quality of life，it is significant to seek a more efficacious treatment approach. This paper introduces that the present treatment for central retinal vein occlusion is elaborated in three aspects, including traditional Chinese medicine treatment, western medicine treatment and integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine treatment. Meanwhile, it brings out the prospect for the future development.
