The typical patients with cervical radiculopathy present neck and arm discomfort of insidious onset. The discomfort can range from a dull ache to a severe burning pain，which affects patients quality of life，The cervical radiculopathy is the highest incident one among all kinds of cervical spondylosis and is the most commonly see in clinical practice，classified as “Bi Zheng” in TCM. However，the safety and effectiveness of most TCM therapy havent ever been evaluated with some internationally recognized standards. Therefore，their evidence is hard to present in the international mainstream evidence-based concept. The aim of this study is to conduct a critical review on assessment and measurement and various definitions and classifications of the existing literatures on neck pain in cervical radiculopathy. The main results of the review bringing in the evidence in terms of the reliability，validity，and utility of objective tests and self-reported pain and disability assessment in people with cervical radiculopathy are provided here.
