To observe impact of Jianpi Tiaogan Tang on the life quality of patients with terminal primary liver cancer.Methods:Sixty patients were randomized to receive western medicine treatment (protecting liver, lipid lowering, pain relief, etc.), the treatment group took Jianpi Tiaogan Tang on top of western medicine treatment. After 2 treatment courses (1 month/course), efficacy were evaluated. TCM syndrome, life quality, weight changes, liver function changes and adverse reaction were observed.Results:In terms of TCM syndrome changes, the total improvement rate of treatment group and control group were 83.3% and 60.0% respectively (P<0.05); after treatment, the treatment group was significantly better than control group in terms of life quality, weight stabilization (P<0.05); in terms of liver function, after treatment both groups showed significantly improved ALT、AST、TBil (P<0.05). Treatment group had even better ALT, ASL levels compared to control group (P<0.05). No adverse reaction was observed in both groups.Conclusion:Jianpi Tiaogan Tang can alleviate clinical symptoms of terminal primary liver cancer, reducing liver damage and adverse reaction, improve quality of life and prolong lifetime.
