To prepare the Guyu liniment and to establish the quality control method for this medicine.Methods:According to the previous studies to prepare the Guyu liniment， UV spectrophotometry was used to determine the content of total flavonoids in Guyu liniment. TLC was used to identify Spatholobi Caulis， Lycopodii Herba and Zanthoxyli Pericarpium in the prescription of Guyu liniment. The content uniformity， relative density， pH， microbe and stability of Guyu liniment were measured.Results:The preparation technology of Guyu liniment is simple. The quality of Guyu liniment is stable and controllable.
