To explore the bioavailability of Pulsatilla total saponins- hydroxypropyl -β- cyclodextrin clathrate pellets. Methods: The total Saponin of Pulsatilla Chinensis Regel and its OH-β-CD clathrate Pellets (200 mg/kg) were administered in rats respectively, the plasma levels were determined by LC-MS. Then the corresponding pharmacokinetic parameters based on the time process of blood drug concentration were calculated. Results: AUC of the Total Saponin of Pulsatilla Chinensis Regel and its OH-β-CD inclusion complex were 574.82 and 1776.32μg/L·h. Conclusion: The bioavailability of pulsatilla total saponins can be improved significantly by the technology of hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin inclusion.
