Hyperthyroidism is a common disease and frequently occurring illness in Department of Endocrinology at present. The treatment of hyperthyroidism by intervention of Chinese Medicines has its own unique advantage in relieving the adverse reaction of western medicine, improving symptoms and decreasing recurrence rate, etc. Clinically good therapeutic effect has been achieved by psychological adjustment, acupuncture treatment, treatment by stage, treatment by syndromes, treatment by special prescription, external treatment, treatment integrating traditional Chinese and Western medicin. The following is a review of the treatments of hyperthyroidism by Traditional Chinese Medicine in the last five years.
