In Traditional Chinese Medicine theory, wind is a common cause of diarrhea. The relevant theory of wind-induced diarrhea originally appeared in the Inner Canon of Huangdi, and have been studied and explored ever since. A textual research on the origin and development of wind-induced diarrhea proves that wind is the main pathogenic factor, and should be distinguished from the Liver qi and spleen insufficiency. Dispelling the pathogenic wind should be the main method of treating diarrhea.
